Dear Self

Dear Self,

It’s okay to not know everything. It’s okay not to have everything figured out. Sometimes, you should just go with your gut, do what feels good and right, see what happens, and enjoy the journey.

Love,

Self ❤

Gettin’ My Money Right

After I had my baby seven months ago(!), I decided I wanted to get healthy and in shape. I was tired of feeling the way I did, and honestly, I wanted to feel better about how I look. So for the past three months, I’ve consistently worked out five to six days a week, and I’ve been eating healthier. I’m proud of myself for staying the course thus far. And since I’ve been consistent in that area, I figure it’s time for me to work on another area I feel needs work: my finances.

As a quote I recently read says…

If you have time to whine and complain about something then you have time to do something about it.

It’s time for me to do something about it instead of just worrying and complaining. So my next “personal project” is getting my (our) money right. I’m going to start by taking care of the money I do have and not buying things I don’t need — putting myself on a “no buy” this month: no books, no nail polish. It’ll probably be a little difficult, but I have faith that I can do it! Also, I’ll be working with Chris on creating a budget and coming up with financial goals.

I’m tired of living this way when it comes to money, so I’m deciding to finally do something about it! I truly believe that if I take care of what I have, believe and affirm that I can have wealth and become intentional with my spending and tithing, I’ll have more. Let’s do this!

Why I Created This Blog

As many of you know, I’m Jamie Fleming-Dixon, founder of She Runs It Blogazine, which inspires the Fearless and Ambitious Female Entrepreneur of Color.

I’ve always been a writer, but admittedly, I’ve gotten a little slack with it. The other day, I was thinking about how much I missed it and how I used to use my words to empower and inspire others. So, I decided to create a space for me to begin writing again. I know, I could have just used a notebook or journal, but I wanted to hold myself accountable, and also share my thoughts.

I hope you enjoy and are ultimately inspired! 🙂
